With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, now is a perfect time to take stock of what really matters – the loved ones you are going to be spending that special day with!
But, it wouldn’t be a perfect Valentine’s Day date without some form of entertainment, and there’s nothing better than winding down after dinner with a TV show or movie. It’s a special day after all, and you wouldn’t want to watch something in less-than-special quality. We put together a list of some 4K shows and movies that you can watch to help celebrate along with Cupid.
What better way to start a list about Valentine’s Day shows that one that’s actually called “Love?” Starring Gillian Jacobs and Paul Rust, “Love” starts off as their old relationships fail, only to bring the two characters together in a three-season story that reflects not just the butterflies-in-your-stomach highs of love, but the core-shaking and miserable lows, as well. It’s a realistic approach to the genre, with plenty of laughs to be had along the way, as well.
Go back to Rydell High and relive high school with the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies as Sandy and Danny dance around each other, both literally and metaphorically, before ultimately finding love. While its overall message of “in order to be with the one you want you need to change who you are entirely” might not be the best, it’s hard to say no to this musical classic – especially if you and your partner are fans of singing and dancing along.
Disney-Pixar’s journey through the Mexican Day of the Dead tradition is a magical look at family, love, and music. It’s not a love story in the romantic type of way, but it still will pull at your heart strings, and probably make you shed a tear or two. That’s “Coco” for you.
Of course, with a movie as colorful as “Coco,” you don’t want to watch it on just any TV. Stop in today and we’ll help you upgrade your set to something that will let you enjoy it in full 4K glory – let’s just call it a Valentine’s Day present for the both of you!
For all its raunchiness and cussing, it can be easy to lose sight of how the “Deadpool” movies are really quite romantic at their core – the movies even make sure to make jokes about that. While these tongue-in-cheek films keeps up a humorous onslaught of jokes throughout, there’s still an emotional core that feels grounded and real, even if the super powers on display aren’t.
Despite its satirical approach to crime shows and its love of poop jokes, “American Vandal” manages to wrap up its second season with a look at both the horrors of technology and what it is like growing up in today’s society. Again – it isn’t a traditional look at love, but it does have heart that catches you by surprise.
