What’s Streaming on Netflix
Every month, Netflix amazes us by releasing loads of content for us to binge-watch. As expected, they are starting off 2023 strong with tons of content!
- Daddy Day Care (January 1) – Best friends Charlie and Phil become stay-at-home dads after they are laid off from their jobs. Charlie (Eddie Murphy), with the support of Phil, decides to open a daycare center in his home, calling it “Daddy Day Care.”
- Forrest Gump (January 1) – The movie follows the life of Forrest Gump, a kind-hearted man from Alabama. Based on the 1986 novel of the same name, the film follows his childhood with his supportive mother to his adult life joining the U.S. Army and being sent to Vietnam.
- G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (January 1) – This military science fiction action film, starring Channing Tatum and Dennis Quaid, follows two American soldiers, Duke and Ripcord, who join the G.I. Joe Team.
- Grease (January 1) – The classic romance musical starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. The movie illustrates the lives of Danny and Sandy when they are reunited at school after their summer romance.
- Life (January 1) – In this horror sci-fi movie starring Rebecca Ferguson, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Ryan Reynolds, six astronauts conduct research and determine that life on Mars is much further advanced than science expected.
- Rocky Movie Collection (January 1) – The Rocky Movie Collection follows boxer Rocky Balboa on his dramatic journey from small-time boxer to Heavyweight Champion to his life after his boxing career.
- This is 40 (January 1) – Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd star in this adult comedy. They are both about to turn 40, their kids hate each other, both of their businesses are failing, they're on the verge of losing their house, and their relationship is threatening to fall apart.
- Ginny & Georgia Season 2 (January 5) – The return of the drama series follows the mother-daughter duo on their journey to a fresh start after many years on the run.
- The Walking Dead Season 11 (January 6) – The final season of AMC’s flagship zombie series has 24 episodes and will drop this month.

Hulu is releasing some great content this month. Check it out!
- The Breakfast Club (January 1) – In this John Hughes classic, five high school students spend a Saturday together in detention and realize they are more alike than they thought.
- Home Alone (January 1) – After his family accidentally leaves him behind, eight-year-old Kevin works to protect his home from two burglars while his family is gone during Christmas vacation.
- The Proposal (January 1) – In this rom-com starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, to keep her visa status in the United States, a pushy boss forces her younger assistant to marry her.
- Zombieland (January 1) – In this post-apocalyptic zombie comedy, a college student and three strangers road trip across the country in search of a zombie-free safe haven.
- The Bachelorette: Season 11 (January 4) – This season features two bachelorettes during the first episode. It’s up to the men to choose which leading lady will stick around. Who will it be?
- House of Darkness (January 7) – The seductive thriller follows main characters Hap and Mina. In this reimagining of Dracula, Hap realizes that he is in for more than he bargained for after he drives Mina home to her secluded estate.
- How I Caught My Killer: Season 1 (January 12) – This true-crime docu-series highlights real-life stories behind unique homicide cases.
What’s Streaming on Disney+
If your New Years’ resolution is to learn more about nature, you’re in luck! Disney+ is releasing several films and series about animals and nature this month.
- Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 (January 4) – Months have passed since the events on Kamino and the Bad Batch continue their journey navigating the Empire after the fall of the Republic. They will cross paths with friends and foes, both new and familiar, as they take on a variety of thrilling mercenary missions that will take them to unexpected and dangerous new places.
- Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Season 2 (January 4) – The 10-episode docu-series shows all that Disney’s dedicated team does for the variety of animals they care for.
- Best in Bridal Season 1 (January 6) – The all-male staff at one bridal boutique competes against a rival boutique with an all-female staff.
- Secret Life of Predators (January 18) – The series covers predatory animals as they hunt their prey and do their best to survive in the wild.
- Ocean’s Breath (January 20) – Coral reefs have permitted life to exist, but now they are dying. Three scientists search for answers to how the coral reefs can be saved.
