Peacemaker (HBO Max, January 13th)
This month, HBO Max will debut the first new DCEU streaming series. "Peacemaker," an eight-episode spinoff of "The Suicide Squad," stars Jon Cena as the villainous antihero. The series recounts the origins of Peacemaker and his uneasy partnership with the US government task group at the head of the Suicide Squad.
Hotel Transylvania: Transformania (Amazon Prime, January 14th)
Drac and his monster companions are changed into humans when Van Helsing's bizarre invention, the "Monsterification Ray," goes insane, whilst Johnny is transformed into a monster. In this installment of the "Hotel Transylvania" franchise, the characters will have to work together to find a remedy before it's too late, adjusting to their new mismatched bodies.
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild (Disney+, January 28th)
The latest Ice Age installment, coming to Disney Plus, brings back your favorite prehistoric characters. When the possum brothers Crash and Eddie (voiced by Vincent Tong and Aaron Harris) go off on their own in pursuit of a little independence, they end up stuck beneath the ice in a massive cave full of dinosaurs. They are rescued by Buck Wild (Simon Pegg), a one-eyed, adventure-loving weasel, and set off on a mission to save the Lost World from dinosaur dominance with the help of some new pals.
How I Met Your Father (Hulu, January 18th)
This time, Hilary Duff plays a single young lady in New York City, with an older version of herself (played by Kim Cattrall) narrating the backstory to her son in 2045 of how she met her true love — and all the romantic disasters that came before it. Two episodes will be released on the premiere day, with additional episodes released every week after that. It's one of the month's more exciting new streaming shows to check out.
Wolf Like Me (Peacock, January 13th)
"Wolf Like Me" (Jan. 13) is an intriguing new horror/rom-com series starring Isla Fisher and Josh Gad as two characters who reunite after Fisher's character's spouse dies. There's something simmering beneath the surface here, with dark secrets and practices, as well as mystery, promising some major twists and reveals.
The Afterparty (Apple TV+, January 28th)
"The Afterparty" is a murder mystery comedy series set at the afterparty of a high school reunion. Tiffany Hadish plays a cop investigating the death of a pop star (Dave Franco) at a high school reunion. Each of the eight episodes will highlight a different character's perspective on the same night, with each having its own visual format and film genre to reflect the teller's personality. The eight-episode first season will launch with three episodes on January 28th, followed by one new episode every Friday thereafter.
The Tragedy of Macbeth (Apple TV+, January 14th)
In Joel Coen's version of Shakespeare's play, viewers will receive a tale of murder, lunacy, ambition, and wrathful cunning, starring Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand as a power-hungry couple. The film has generated a lot of hype due to its dramatic performances by its stars as well as its striking black-and-white visual style.
