4K Holiday Light Displays That Will Blow You Away

by Ronald Elias

Well, we made it folks. Happy holidays, 2020!

We don’t know about all of you, but we love the holidays around here, and one of our favorite traditions is driving around and seeing all the cool displays and lights that our local neighbors put up to celebrate!

Of course, things might be a little bit different this year, but that doesn’t mean that we have to get all Grinch or Scrooge-like and bah humbug the holidays away. We’ve got another solution, and we think it’s as bright an idea as Rudolph’s nose.

Instead of packing the family in the car and driving around to see displays, what about watching them right from the comfort of home? Even better, what about watching them in crisp 4K resolution so it feels like we are actually there? Now that’s more like the holiday spirit!

So, grab your cup of eggnog or cider and get ready for our cross-country trip of some amazing light shows that you simply won’t want to miss. Heigh ho, let’s go!

Ho ho ho, San Antonio!

The first stop on our holiday sleigh ride is San Antonio for a wonderful walk through the city and its seasonal bounty. Whether it’s a boat ride down the river surrounded by lights or getting to see the Tower of the Americas and the University of the Incarnate Word Tree lighting, San Antonio makes for a great first stop this season.

Chi-town Christmas

Let’s sit back and let the wintery winds and gusts of the season blow us on over to Chicago, where we are going to take a stop at the Lincoln park Zoo.

Over 2.5 million lights comprise this light show, making it quite an impressive show of color and spectacle -- made all the better by the extra detail that 4K resolution lets you see.

If you find the detail in your screen or TV lacking, though, it might be time to upgrade – and 4K really is the way to go this year! Give us a call or stop on by. We’d be glad to help you find a new TV set that you can bring home as a gift for the whole family!

Home for the Holidays

Chicago sure is getting a lot of love on this list, but we saw this video and just couldn’t imagine sleeping at night with sugarplums dancing in our heads if we didn’t share this video with all of our customers.

We wanted to make sure to include some homemade holiday light shows as well, and this one really takes the cake. It’s a musical, holiday light show feast for the senses.

A Holiday Far, Far Away

First, we’re going to go from Chicago to California, but then it’s about time that our holiday festivities went galactic, don’t you think? “Star Wars” fans are really in for a treat with this one. And most importantly of all, may the Force be with you and your families this holiday season.

Traveling to Tokyo

OK, OK, we’ve gone intergalactically, now it’s time to travel internationally. Set S.S. Starship Holiday sights to Tokyo, where we are going to take a winter wonderful trip through Shinjuku Station -- of “Persona” fame. There’s nearly thirty minutes of 4K footage here for you to enjoy – go ahead and take that extended lunch break and enjoy the whole video. You deserve it for all the hard work you put in this year!

A Magical Holiday

Last but certainly not least, we have some place special in mind for our big holiday finale: Walt Disney World!

We all don’t have castles in our back yard that we can deck out with lights – and we all know how traveling has been this year – so we wanted to end on a place that most people probably wouldn’t be able to actually visit this year. But we can pretend to visit through the power of 4K video! It’s from a few years ago, but the holiday Wishes firework and light show is simply a delight.

No matter where you are or how you are able to spend the holidays this year, we want to wish all of our customers – who we really think of as family – a happy holiday and a great New Year! Thank you so much for sticking with our blogs throughout the year, and we’ll see you all in 2021!
