Let’s get ready to rumble!
Black Friday is one of the busiest shopping seasons of the year, and we know that TVs are always a hot ticket item for our customers. But, which TVs should you be looking for? What technology is worth the upgrade? What are the features you should be keeping an eye out for?
With our 2020 Black Friday TV Buying Guide, we’ve got you covered. As your local electronics and technology store, we always have your needs in mind, even during turkey season. We want to make sure that you are making educated and informed decisions about the products you purchase – it just helps you enjoy them even more once you get them home! So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at the important things to remember when TV shopping this Black Friday ... and this whole holiday season!
4K
With a new TV, the most important thing for you to focus on is resolution, especially if it’s been awhile since you last upgraded your TV. You probably had a set with 1080p resolution – but nowadays, 4K resolution is all the rage. Really, in 2020, there’s no reason to be purchasing a TV that’s not 4K equipped.
In fact, higher resolution is only getting more and more important as 4K content becomes more readily available. Even if you don’t have a 4K Blu-ray player and physical 4K Blu-ray discs, most major streaming services have such content, letting you experience this stunning new resolution without needing anything but a compatible TV!
HDR
There’s another really cool new feature that you want to make sure is included on any new TV you buy: High dynamic range (HDR).
It’s a little bit more technical than resolution, so we’ll break it down a bit: Essentially, HDR lets your TV display a wider range of colors – giving you an image that is more vibrant and lifelike than your traditional TV display. Many people actually find HDR more of a boost in image quality than 4K, so it’s something you really should make sure your new TV can do.
Of course, if all this TV information is still confusing, don’t worry! Give us a call or stop in to see one of our expert salespeople – they’ll be able to talk to you, listen to what you need, and help you find the best TV for your needs! There’s no time like the present, so come on down today!
Size
The general rule of thumb when it comes to TVs is that bigger is always better. That doesn’t mean everyone should just go out and try to cram a giant TV in a small space, though!
The size you should get is mostly dependent on the size of the room that you are going to put your TV in. You don’t want to be too far or too close to your screen – it won’t give you a good viewing experience. For a 55” TV, you want to be about 12 feet away from the screen, and then obviously for a bigger screen you want to be further out and vice versa. Make sure to keep this in mind when looking at TVs! You also want to make sure that your TV is going to fit in your entertainment center – and that it isn’t too heavy for your stand – so consider those factors, as well.
Sound
OK, so you are getting a new TV this Black Friday. That’s great! But, there’s something else you should keep an eye out for: speakers. Or at least a soundbar.
Why would you need one of those if you are already buying a new TV? The answer is actually simple – as TVs have gotten thinner and thinner, speakers have gotten worse and worse. If you want your TV to sound as good as it looks, getting new speakers to go along with it is your best bet.
Of course, we aren’t going to leave you up the proverbial creek without a paddle when it comes to speakers – we’ve got you covered there as well! Give us a call or stop on over and we can help you find the best TV and speakers to bring home this fall – and we know that once you get them home, you’ll fall in love with them. We hope to see you soon!
