Welcome to our time travelling Thanksgiving celebration.
With the sad but understandable news that 2020 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is online only, we had an idea: What if we could take a trip and revisit some old Thanksgiving Day Parades? Is there a way we could do that?
Of course there is! We have the technology! To help celebrate Thanksgiving this year, and to share that cheer with our whole family of customers, we’ve pulled together a list of some great Thanksgiving Day Parades throughout the years. Even better, they are all available to watch and stream in beautiful 4K resolution.
So, while you are prepping the turkey, carving the cranberries, and baking the roast beast, here’s a look at some past Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades to help you and your family really get into the thankful spirit this year.
Marcy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2019
The first stop on our hot tub Thanksgiving time machine is all the way back to the distant past of 2019. And while it may have only been a year ago, it sure feels like 2020 has taken up way more time than that, doesn’t it?
The 93rd iteration of the annual parade included 11 marching bands, 26 floats, and more than 1,000 clowns. Take a look and revisit the parade and see just how much – or how little -- you remember from last year!
Back in the Day of 2018
Next up on our stop is 2018, which also wasn’t that long ago, but we wanted to included this 4K video for those of you who really want to use technology to take things to the next level. This video is the entire 2018 parade, filmed not only in 4K, but also in 360 degrees.
Enjoy your front-row seat to all the floats, dancers, cheerleaders, and bands that graced the parade in 2018. And make sure you at least stick around to see the SpongeBob balloon!
Of course, if your TV isn’t able to handle 4K resolution, then you are really throwing away one of the best parts of Thanksgiving, aren’t you? Give us a call or stop in today and we’ll be glad to help you find a TV set that can get you great 4K picture, and give you a set the whole family will love to crowd around this Thanksgiving (parades and sporting events alike).
Sweet (20)16
We’re going to take a double leap this time: going from 2018 back to 2016! Don’t worry, we’re still in 4K, even if the video is getting up there in age.
But we are taking a stop in Florida for this one, for the holiday version of the parade at Universal Studios Florida. It shares many of the same floats and balloons – so yes, this one still counts. With confetti in the air, floats on the streets, and holiday cheer all over the place, you don’t want to miss out on this trip down memory lane, a la 2016.
Y2K
OK, we are going to have bend the rules of space and time and time travel a little bit here, but we wanted to include at least one video that actually required us to go a bit into the past! And where better to go than the turn of the millennium?
Yessiree, this video will take you back to the glory days of 2000, when all we had to worry about was maybe that all of our computers would stop working when the clock hit midnight and the apocalypse would begin. Dodged that bullet! Of course, this video isn’t filmed or upscaled to 4K, but you’ll have to allow us a pass on just this one! Just take a minute to check out all the memories in this little turn-of-the-millennium internet gem – you won’t regret it, that’s for certain!
And sure, we might not be able to help you actually get to the parade this year, but we can help bring some parades to you -- and help you with all of your electronics, smart home, and home technology needs! Give us a call or parade your way over today and we’d be glad to help you out in any way we can.
