What's Streaming in May 2022

Running out of things to watch might seem impossible, but it happens. Suddenly, you've watched most of the items on your watchlist, and you're thirsty for more content. Luckily, you don't have to wait long!

With the start of every month comes new or new-to-you movies and TV shows to enjoy! But don't worry about having to keep track; we have a list of some of the more anticipated content coming to you this month!

1. Last Flag Flying Home (Prime Video)

While not new, Last Flag Flying Home comes to Prime Video on May 4th. Starring the incredible ensemble of Steve Carell, Bryan Cranston watch as three Vietnam War veteran comes together to bury one of their sons and honor his sacrifice while also questioning the point of war. This beautiful tale is definitely worth adding to your list!

2. The Pentaverate (Netflix)

Coming to Netflix on May 5th, The Pentaverate is a mini-series starring the character talent of Mike Meyers as he, once again, masters the task of playing multiple characters. Join one unlikely Canadian journalist as he journeys to uncover the real truth of world events, and tries to save the world. But the Pentaverate should never be exposed!

3. The Sound of Magic (Netflix)

Let your inner child soar when you watch The Sound of Magic, another Korean drama coming to Netflix on May 6th! Yun Ai is a high school girl who dreamed of becoming a magician but had to grow up too fast. However, once she finds an abandoned amusement park and meets an enigmatic magician, she'll learn that the power of magic is definitely within her reach!

4. The Quest (Disney+)

Speaking of fantasy and magic, The Quest is a rich, competition-based series with a fantastical twist. Follow along as eight young people are dropped into the fictional world of Everealm as they quest to save the kingdom. This series lands on Disney+ on May 11th!

5. Operation Mincemeat (Netflix)

If you love anything to do with WWII, you're in for a treat. Operation Mincemeat reveals a true story about how two British soldiers came up with a plan to redirect Hitler's forces — with a corpse and falsified documents. Starring Colin Firth and Matthew Macfadyen, there's no reason not to add this film to your watchlist!

6. Baywatch (Prime Video)

If you haven't seen it yet, now's your chance — Baywatch is coming to Prime Video on May 12th! Watch the action-packed reboot of the long-running, same-titled series, but with more explosions. Starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, this action-packed picture is the perfect way to spend movie night.

7. Sneakerella (Disney+)

You might think Sneakerella is just another Cinderella story, and you'd be mostly right — except this time Cinderella is a boy! Watch this reimagined classic tale, centering around LA's sneaker culture and the main lead's desire to become the best sneaker designer. Expect this unique tale to hit Disney+ on May 13th!

8. Senior Year (Netflix)

Stephanie had it all in high school and thought she was at the top of the world — until she fell off the top of the cheerleading pyramid. After waking up from a 20-year coma as a 37-year-old woman, she's determined to get back what she lost and finish high school right. Starring Rebel Wilson and Alicia Silverstone, Senior Year is the comedic refresh you've been looking for; and it hits Netflix on May 13th!

9. Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers (Disney+)

Need more Chip N' Dale in your life? Congrats — Disney grants your wish with Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers coming to Disney+ on May 20th! Not only is the reboot nostalgic, but so is the film style. The whole family will love the hybrid live-action, cartoon, and CGI mashup reminiscent of the classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit with an updated twist! Watch as Chip and Dale come together to solve a mystery and mend their friendship.

10. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Disney+)

Star Wars fans rejoice — it's time for Obi-Wan Kenobi's story to come to life! Obi-Wan Kenobi is a limited series arriving on May 25th, which follows the story of Obi-Wan during his exile on Tattoine, after the events of Revenge of the Sith. See as he evades the Empire's strongest Jedi hunters and keeps watch over young Luke Skywalker at the same time.

11. Stranger Things Volume 4 (Netlfix)

It's here! What you've been waiting for is finally hitting Netflix on May 27th — the first half of season 4 of Stranger Things! Things pick up six months after the end of season three and begin with the group split up as they try to go about their everyday lives. Only the upside-down won't let them.

Time to Binge-Watch!
